Mark IV vs Gen VI Flywheel mounting..

Just a bridge I haven't crossed but I'm sure many of you have.

Will a flywheel off of a Gen VI fit on a Mk IV crank?
I was going to have the Gen VI flywheel zero balanced and use it one a Dart short block build but from some light investigation it appears the mounting may be different.

If they are not interchangeable, any suggestions on a new one or anyone have a Mk IV neutral balance flywheel laying around.

Obviously a 168 tooth one :)

Thanks,
Dave

I don't think it will work because one crank is a 2 pc rear main and the other is a new style 1 pc rr main seal.

Thanks Smitty,
That's what I am thinking as well.

They are interchangeable. There is a slight balance difference. Bolt pattern is the same.

The 427 was the only neutral balanced motor that GM put out. They are not easy to find used and are very expensive from GM.I think the casting number is 457. Pioneer makes a neutral cast iron flywheel for around $150-$175. Give me a call if you need one. Eddie

Guess my question was more directed to Wazzup's response.
If it physically interchangable on the one piece seal and two piece seal cranks then neutral balancing the flywheel itself would be fairly easy.

My finds so far...
GMPP 3991469 runs ~$170 and readily available through GM parts.
Hayes 10-130 billet steel flywheel runs $215 through Jegs and Summit.

I'll look into the Pioneer...Thanks Eddie

Probably just go with new here...
Thanks for the replys.
