The air is there from lack of bleeding it off. It will work until it gets hot or the pump sees air once it foams it has to sit before you can do anything with it. If there is a belly in the line from the pump to the res tank it will hold air in the pump. Let it sit over night ensure the pump is full. Run engine turn wheel lock to lock a few times. See what you've got. Did the pump stay full and are the drives tight side to side? Some systems will bleed easily depends on how the lines are routed in the boat. Others take a serious effort. Once its bled completely the air can only come from the pump being low and/or from a bubble in the line to the res tank.

I am experiencing similiar trouble, my fluid keeps collecting in the resiviuor making the steering go hard. It must be foaming and collecting in the Latham bottle. I have dual ps Latham system per thier diagram. Changing the pump did not change the problem.
thanks for advice.

I just received the Imco hose adaptor, still waiting on the tank. I'm planning to mount the tank on the engine directly above the pump with a very short hose to and from. I'll keep you all posted on how it works out. Thanks all of you guys for the advice!!

Well I'm finally back at it.

Update: I installed a remote bottle almost directly above the pump. Still having the same issue although it has improved some. My next move is to flush out the ATF and refill with actual power steering fluid and see what happens. Unless someone has a better idea.

Thanks,

Steve
