Here is what I recommend if you add the Whipples. Do a compression test before you teardown heads to get a baseline.
1. Go thru heads and install Inconel exhaust and severe duty intakes. Polish combustion chambers in the heads to remove chances of detonation. 2. use Fel-Pro MLS head gaskets and use ARP head stud kits. 3. Install separate water feeds for both intercoolers including sea strainers for both. 4. install vaccuum/boost guages on dash. Also install oil temp guages if you do not have them. 5. Put it all back together, get 6" more pitch on your props and rock and roll !!! You should see at least 86-90 mph. Also switch to royal purple drive oil in the drives. |

Just got done reading through your rebuild post. Nice job! Those bad boys look awesome! OK - You have a similar boat to mine as far as in size and maybe weight. What gain did you actually see from Non-Whipple to Whipple. BTW, Are you going to Key West? Ted. |
I think he runs just over 100 !! Was probably doing low 80's before the Whipples.

Smittys right on:DIt was 79-82 depending on water and load. The boat had b max's which might of hurt it. The factory test report with bravos was 86.9 Whipples which I did other mods but close in hp as a stock just bolt on Whipple set up , 4 props sizes, which I was turning 52-5400 rpm and went up to 6000 with the whipple, at the 7 1/4 boost it ran 97-99.8 again depending on water and load, Now with it at 8 1/4 which is 6 props sizes and 6000rpm it runs 99.1-102.1mph that from full fuel,5 people, hot air and water to light fuel and 3 people and perfect water. But if its cool out ital hit 100 anytime. I just bought some 32 fixing to try in the cooler temps,so thats 8 props sizes if it will pull them?:D I would think your hull is heavier than mine? but it might take the power better? Do it youll love it:evilb::evilb: If ya need some help just hollar Rob |

To set these whipple 500efi's up perfect a dyno should be used to fine tune the computer calibrations. I am going through this now. Stock computer was quite far off from where it should be.
Also will be port matching the Dart aluminum heads because the Whipple didn't match up real nice. Awsome looking package though. |
Ted, Smitty has the right idea.. Definitley do your head check & upgrade with the inconels while they are out.. If you need a shop to do it we are not that far from you.. The whipples on that set up will really wake that up.. I just got done doing it on my Donzi as well.. :) Jamie / Lakeside
