Winterizing made easy?
Anyone know of a remote water drain system for easy winterizing a 502 mpi that i can mount before i reinstall my motors?

It can be easily made with brass fittings from the plumbing section at the hardware store and some rubber hose. Fitting with nipple to go in block, connect to rubber hose, connect an end cap fitting or valve on the other end.

Problem will be scale build up will block the lines then leave water in the block and heads and then in the spring you will have a big fat crack:greenchainsaw:

if they are pluged just use a blow nozel with about 100 psi and blow in them they will open and drain. |
thats kinda what i figured although i saw a kit on the net a few weeks ago and cant find it anymore.
Thanx Ralph |
As Griff stated...... just some brass fittings from the hardware store. I connected an orange colored hose to the drain fitting on the oil cooler and ran it to the front of the bilge. It's the hardest drain to get at on a twin engine setup. Now it's a breeze. The blocks and exhaust drains are pretty easy though it would be simple to do the same thing with them.
As a precaution, I always catch the water in a 5 gallon bucket to measure what comes out to assure I'm getting everything. Big Block = 5 gallons |
Right on , i guess im gonna make u a few lines too
Thanx Ralph |
