DDT cartridge hp 500
 

does anybody know what cartridge I need for for my DDT
for a 2001 hp500 EFI
I have version 1.31 part number 91-880118-031
It will not communicate

i looked it up on the ddt mercruiser service bulletin and that looks like the right one?? try taking the cartridge out and putting it back in with the power unhooked.

I believe the 500EFI needs cartridge # 91-803999, and cable 84-820560a2.

i have cable 84-822560a2 it plugs in

i have tried removing cartridge and reinstalling still will not communicate?
the ddt has a different face plate
It is red and says Mercury racing on the top
It says outboard diagnostics below the screen
do you think that would make a difference?
I also do not have the long extension cable

out of the mercruiser high perf service manual #6 oct 2002 cartridge # 91-822608 2 and cable # 91-822560a 2 the cartridge is no longer available from mercruy. hope this helps. i'm only aware of one ddt that was ever available from mercury the high perf one you have may be just a differant lable.

Sounds like you got the right cable but wrong cartridge. As far as your scan tool itself, I think you have a OTC 4000 Enhanced (sold by MAC, Matco, Cornwell, and others) that was refaced, there is a guy on ebay that sells them like that. It should work fine once you have the right cartridge. As Boatdoc said, the 500EFI service manual calls for cartridge part # 91-822608 2, but that # is NLA, superceded by #91-803999.
