I need a straight answer....
I have just spent the last 2 hours reading threads about ss crossovers and I am right back where I started. Are crossovers better than stock?
The engines are 500hp's with stock everything. Most of the threads I did read were from years ago so I was hoping there may be more current info and/or systems. If I can get an answer that is backed up with proven data I will be able to make my decision based on that. Thanks guys. Chuck |
I wouldnt change it out,
Does it still have the Gill exhaust? |
The Gils are on it for now but I am looking at Stainless Marine to replace them. Still not 100% positive about the SM but at this point it's all about the benjamins. Some nice CMI headers would be sweet but the cost is just a bit to far out of reach right now.
Thanks Rob Chuck |
get the stainless marine. headers crack.

The recirc pump will keep temps more consistent. Also, crossovers can create problems with too much water pressure.

There are good things about crossovers and bad things. The weight savings and additional very small amount of HP you will gain are the major benefits. Not a "scientific", good reason to do it. Don't do it unless you can't live without the bling factor.

The problem I was looking to solve was corrosion build up in the stock cast housings. It seems that I will be trading one problem for another so I guess no crossovers for now.
Thank you gentlemen. Chuck |

Thank you gentlemen. Chuck I put one on mine and like the way it cools(no T-stat) and also how it cleans up the engine. I have not had any problems with water press. Its also one less thing to worry about failing while enjoying your day out. Just my .02:D |

The thing that attracted me to them was the whole "one less thing to fail" arguement.
