rocker studs

When changing from stock rocker arms to roller rocker on a BBC does the cocker studs need to be changed as well, for a longer set.

you need to get the rocker studs i think there for 7/16 roller rockers summit or teagues has them.

It has to be changed more for the type of material they are made from and the top of the stud is machined flat for the poly locks for the roller rockers. If you use the stock stud the locks will somtimes come loose because they are not flat enough in some cases.:D

If you have a Gen VI engine, you dont even have studs. You have 3/8" shoulder bolts.

tony stamis 02-07-2008 10:47 AM

the studs for the stock heads are 3/8 bottom 7/16top

THe only time I need one is when someone has been tightning the poly locks down to hard and srews up the tops. Sometimes I can grind them smooth. I found a donor head a while back and still have a couple left.
