For the same money, which would be better? Lightning Marine standard jacketed header, or Stainless Marine Hi-Torque manifolds?

Goes on 454 Mag with procharger...

I run EMI Thunder same application I like the Lightning as well but the EMI required less modification to the air intake.

I am a distributor for both as well as lightining. While I do like many of Emi's products as far as the exhaust manifolds the Stainless marine system is really a great product that is hard to beat on many points.. :) Jamie / Lakeside

What is the factory warranty period offered?

SM has 5 year, that is one reason why I went there! does not matter about Salt Water....Brownie says that if you flush after each use...the life should be lots longer than the warranty period.... my $.02

If they offer XX months then you have some reason to believe that with proper care you should AT LEAST get that out of them because how many builders want hassles of warranty issues?

Better is variable question here. The Stainless Marine manifold system will out last almost any other manifold system on the market based on the internal thickness between the water jacket an the exhaust port being the thickest. The Lightning header will out perform any manifold system on the market. So I guess the question may be is longevity your concern of horsepower.

We have used Lightning's headers for over 5 years... excellent performance, no cracking or rust issues ever. We do however use automatic drain tubes on the headers to drain after every time in the water with no hassles. Besides, the Lightnings look a lot better than the cast units.:D
