System one oil filter.... pro/cons

Anyone running one of these? I just bought one because I change my oil so often. Any feedback.

Kenny,
I try to talk my racer customers into using them. The big advantage that I see is that you can look at the filter everytime you change the oil ( after each race for some of them ) and "see" bearing problems before they cause major damage. In a marine application, if you notice any sudden change in oil pressure or temperature, the first thing I would do is open the filer and look for bearing material. Being able to clean the filter and reuse it makes it pretty cost effective if you do frequent oil changes.
I have not heard anything negative about them.

Does anyone know the gpm flow or what micron it filters. I liked the fact its stainless and and not affected by moisture. Also is the spring loaded ball at the bottom a bypass? It doesn't seem very stiff. Thanks

they are awesome for being able to wash them in the solvent tank and back to business , however we have sucked them pretty close to closed shut and you will want to buy the 15.oo part and eleminate the bybass so you are always filtering .... you may want to just switch to the HP 6 and no more worries:evilb:

We used to run them back in the 80's on my uncles race car. Then we discovered the Oberg filter and never turned back.

so hows the filter working?

The o rings went bad last year so I quit using it. I agree that the oil gets dirty quicker for some reason..Bypass maybe, but I was changing it often due to fuel contamination. Probably saved double the price on filters though.
