Hyd. roller lifter
 

I came across a set of Comp-cams hyd. roller lifier for a 502 BBC part #900-16 on E bay for 196.88$. And a set of Crane lifters part#16535-16 at Jegs for 571.99$. Why so much diference in price They are both good Co.

save your money and time. Just by a set of new GM big block hyraulic roller lifters when needed. about $140 per set from GM partsdirect.com and they are as good if not better than the ones distributed by Comp or Crane. If you need something more heavy duty for valve springs in excess of 145lbs closed and 425Lbs open then go buy the Morels or Isky units(made by Morel) and be prepared to spend about $500 per set. Keep all hydraulic roller lifters under 6000 rpms with heavier springs. Lifters don't make power or performance, stay with either geninue GM or Morel for HD applications.
We've built a hell of a lot of big blocks and we've never lost a hydraulic roller lifter that went in on a good cam lobe and was good to begin with. Over spring them, over-rev them or under oil them and they all become "Toast".

I'm not familiar with the Comps however I can tell you that the Crane 16535-16 are for the Gen VI dog bone style setups. The stock GM lifters in that application are lift limited to .570 (per Crane) and the Cranes allow you to run up to ~.650. If your changing cams you need to be aware of this.

My engine is 1999-502 MPI. Can my stock roller lifter be reused on a new cam.

on a flat tappet cam you have to change lifters when you change cam, but on a roller cam if your lifters are in great shape you can reuse them on a new cam
