Change heads to 049 chevy high performance ovals, upgrade cams, change to a roller rocker, use the intake you have or change to the edelbrock RPM air gap. It is the same height. Change to a standard mechaincal secondary, mech choke 750 carb, Install pistons for high 9.5-1-.2:1 compresion and you will be above your goal for under you budget in parts.

If you need more info, PM me. I have converted a feew of these 330's and they make around 450-475 HP and about 500lbs of torque with this set up.

Good luck with your project and keep it simple and it will be reliable.

It's actually about two inches taller then the cast iron 330hp intake.. :drink:

I forgot also that the carb will be taller also. There are intakes out there that will work though. He can also cut out a releif in his engine hatch maybe.

If he went with a single plane intake he might be able to machine a couple inches off the top and make it work also.

He could use the stock iron intake and with the rest of the mods still get the 100HP a side that he is looking for.

100HP starting from 330 is really easy.

Hope he has good luck.
