What oil P/U for a 8qt. pan??
I am going from stock 5qt pans to 8qt. stamped steel merc pans, what oil pump P/U do I need?? I cannot find any info on this!

This is the list of parts I used when I had stock 8 quart oil pans on a HP500 Gen VI:
Oil pump Melling #M-77HV Oil pump screen Melling #241S Oil pump drive Melling #IS77 Be sure to have the oil pump pick up welded by someone who knows what rod to use on cast. A high nickel content is needed or it WILL fall off. Dave |
Thanks Dave, i am looking it up at Summit. I could not get any good answers from a search!
You going to me and Lake Effect again this summer at Kelleys?? |
The 2 pans are the same depth, so they can use the same p/u. The 8 quart pan just has a longer sump. They are both about 8" deep. Be sure to check the depth with playdoh, clay or putty. Put a paper towel or rag over the p/u so the playdoh doesn't get in the p/u screen. Put the pan on without a gasket and compress the playdoh. You should have about 3/8".

This is the p/u I use on Gen VI 8 quart pans. I never thought about putting the playdoh in a bag. I think I might steal your idea:D
