I am opposite of most of you. I like XM much better. I think it depends on the music you listen to. I think for alternative, Sirius is better. For my music, heavy metal, XM is way better. We have sirius in both our cars, and I have XM in the house that I listen to while working. I have really been looking forward to the merger in hopes that I will be able to get my XM stations from Sirius in the car!

What stations do you listen to? Their hard rock selections are really lacking- at least for me. I get either pop/rock, 80's hair bands or the ultra hard speed metal.

I listen almost exclusively to the Boneyard on XM 41. They play all of the heavy stuff from the eighties and nineties and they play new bands that have a strong sound like the older bands have. Nowhere on Sirius it seems can I get all of that in one place. I can go to Hair Nation and get just the eighties hair bands, but very little of things like iron maiden or Dio. The boneyard plays old iron maiden, as well as the new stuff iron maiden has out. They also play newer stuff like Fozzy and Annihilator. For me, they have the best format and mix of what I like to hear. To get that on Sirius, I have to switch between about 5 different channels and hope I'll hit something I like.

Does anyone have issues with the XM sound quality. I have had XM for 3 years (they keep giving me a huge discount to stay), but the sound is terrible. It's like listening to FM on a handheld transistor radio. I have a Chevy truck with Bose sound system. There are some EQ settings but they really don't make a difference.

Ive had XM for about three yrs now and not any sound issues have come up. GM truck with factory receiver.

XM and Sirius both have marginal sound quality. They are both highly compressed digital feeds so it sounds like a 96 or 128 mp3. Not the best but not real bad.

XM's Squizz/Boneyard are both great!!!!

Agreed. I can really tell the difference when I play it through the Bose system.
