Merc Alarm system
I switched from MPI to a carburetor. The alarm goes off from the time I turn the key untill it starts and gets oil pressure. There must have been a timmer in the ecu.
Is there a way to add a timmer or do I need a different alarm? Any ideas? Mike |
My carb engines all had about 10-20 second delay before the alarm would sound with the key turned to on.

I added an alarm system (low oil pressure and over temp)to my carb Volvo Penta and used a solid state timer in the system, dialed it in to where it barely gets oil pressure when it starts. I can't recall where i found it (can look tomorrow) but this is similar.
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...?name=PB783-ND Or from McMaster Carr 7268K11 Relay with Single-Timing Function on-Delay, 12 VDC, .1 to 10 Seconds In stock at $46.40 Each |
Could just buy the alarm timer/buzzer from Merc. that is used on the carbed motors.
Boatfix has the unit for around $30 PT # 816492A14 |
