you might give dustin whipple a call, some of his supercharger kits replace the intake and he can map you an ecm ,

It makes no sence going from a carbed hp500 to an efi 500. More money for no more performace. Doesn't make sence.
So I ask again......Why? |
Hey Eddie,
If you use the aftermarket EFI systems do they allow you different outputs to control other things, ie nitrous? How adjustable are they if you do a cam swap or header swap? Do they use an o2 sensor or is it closed loop? |
I'm using a mefi computer. Personally, I think they are the best. They also allow my customers to have their engine worked on by any qualified Merc mechanic should they have a problem. Since I'm shipping engines all over the place, it is not convienient for every customer to come back to me with every little problem. They have the option to go somewhere close to them, wherever that may be. Not many builders use mefi computers because they either don't have the software or don't know how to use it, since it is fairly complicated software.
I do use a wideband O2 sensor to tune (actually a dual sensor, one in each bank), but it comes out after the tuning is done. This computer is highly tunable. You can make as many changes as you would like to accomodate any engine mods. Hope this answered your questions, Eddie. |
