NGK to Champion cross reference
SubscribeI currently run NGK R5671A-8 and -9 V-Power plugs and wanted to try and run some Champions. I'm having a couple of issues with the NGK fouling and wanted to see if the issues are the same with the Champions at a different heat range. I called Champion and they can not cross reference the NGK plug.
Does anyone know the Champion number? I have a 540 BBC with iron heads (14mm thread, 19mm reach, 5/8" hex, gasket seat).
I have tried sparkplugs.com and it was no help.
Thanks

I have found NGK tech support to be very knowledgeable in the past always coming up with a good plug for my setup.

I wouldn't run Champion plugs in my lawn mower. We stopped using them in the 70's. If you want to try a very good plug run Autolite AR Series. They have a cut back ground strap which will produce more HP. Are you Super Charged? If your not your running way too cold of a heat range.
Champions stink. I have had brand new champions foul out almost instantly in engines before. They simply stop working. Then replaced them with NGK, and they work perfectly. Never again. BTW I had two Autolites comletely blow the ceramic centers out of the plug on my ski boat last year. Gladly replaced with NGK's. I'll stick with what works.
