750 hp hawk engines tech info[some, not all]

1.,9.6 to 1 comp 2.,dart pro 1 heads 395's[yes they only make 345's,but these have been ported and polished] ,114 cc chambers,2.350in,1.90ex valves 3., crane cams mech roller, .735 lift,262/274 dur,on 107,.022 lash 4.,cola cranks 5.,carillo h-beam rods 6.,je pistons ? 7., sar/dart intakes[ported and polished,to match heads] 8., holley 1250cfm reworked by ''sonny leonard'' to 1350cfm 9., 32 degs of timing this is all ive found,anybody have anymore info ? |
Lot's of better ways to make power. The cylinder heads and carbs are too big for that combo.
|
im just passing on the info, its taking me a long time to find ,just the little info, for any other hawk owners
|
I understand... If you ever do any upgrades I can help. There is a easy 100 horsepower to be gained @ the same compression ration.:D

I would like to know the same for a Hawk 525. I was told it was a 454, but saw online under a SEC filing for the company, they have it listed as 496.
If anyone has the specs i would appreciate it. |
I use to do alot of machine work for Hawk if the cranks have a 3-4 digit number in the front of the snout they may have been machined by us for Hawk just before they closed. As far as I knew all engine assembly and dyno tune was done in house or that's what they claimed Bud that was the man in charge was a good friend of mine. Sincerely Laz Mesa

If I remeber correctly the Hawk 525 was basically a MERC 420 (454) with a B&M 174 on top, I think the carb was a Holley 850. Higher comp than MERC 525SC. I built 2 out of my old 420īs reliable turnkey motors.

Sonny built alot of the big cube stuff for Hawk. Alot of drag racing technology used. Mr. Horsepower is right on with the intake system being way wrong for the application. I've seen and run a few of the Hawk 1000's. 700 inch tunnel ram motors. They were all NHRA Pro Stock technology from the day.

what would you guys use on these and how would it help?
