Windshield Fabrication New Jersey

Anyone know a place in New Jersey that can fabricate a windshield for a B-28 Bat Boat? It is basically a rectangle with a slight curve. I need it 3/8" polycarb with some kind of hard coating on it. Racing Shields in Indiana can do it but I really need to ship the windshield out there and don't want to have to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...the season here is coming fast!

How's your 28

Doug: Been following your accounts of your boat. What's the latest and greatest with power and drives? I'm considering buying a used 28 and have several of my own race motors for possible power alternatives. As I can fabricate most of my own parts, I was merely curious to how your entire experience with the boat has been. skiffnbuck "Capt Nemo"

Armada B-28

I Whipple Charged my B-28 last summer. The boat's top speed with the Volvo DPX HP500 was 86mph. After the charger, my top speed was 96 but I was hitting the rev limiter. I have the DPX-A drive and put the biggest F-4 props on it but they were not enough. Rather than change the drive I had the props worked on by BBlades this past winter adding a bit of pitch and some cup so hopefully I can get over 100. As far as the boat experience, the boat handles like no other. I had the V-24 before this and that was like a sports car on the water. The B-28 can take bigger water and is more of a "family
" boat". Just have to convince my wife of that!

And which B-28 are you looking at? Is it the black one with the wrap- around windshield and rearbench seat?

Actually the props are E-4's.

Did you ever find somebody in N.J. to do your windshield? Doug

I found a plastics company in south New Jersey and sent them a template. They cut a windshield from 1/4" (or was is 3/8"?, I forget) scratch resistant polycarbonate with a gray tint. At first I was worried that I should not have ordered the tint thinking it may be too dark but when I received the windshield, it looked great. An employee delivered the windshield in his car-it just fit inj the back seat! I just removed the existing windshield which was scrartched and hazy, terrible to see through, and used that as a template to drill holes in the new polycarb. Then I just masked off a few inches around the edge and painted it black with special poly paint. I ordered SS black oxide truss head screws and used poly washers under each screw and SS acorn nuts on the back side. The windshield is not perfect optically but was a much cheaper alternative than ordering one from Racing Shields who wanted to make a piece and bend it to form then coat if with non-scratch.
Check out the videos I just uploaded to youtube of a VHS tape I received when I purchased my B-28 used. It is "Ocke Mannerfelt B-28 B24 Armada Promo" in 3 parts.

The place is E&T Plastics with numerous locations. The woman I worked with was very nice. She sent me samples first and then followed up right through the delivery. Her name was Guerda in the
Mt. Laurel, NJ location (800) 328-5871. email me at [email protected] to communicate easier.
