Need to put new system in the skater. what amps? what subs separate tweeters ect or just coax?

Dealer wants to put in a 5 channel amp? I was thinking 1 mono amp for subs 4 channel for mids and highs?

My son and I have been shopping for a system for his car at about the same budget.

We are going with the 5 channel amp (Fosgate); Polk component 6 1/2 speakers x 4 and a 12" Polk enclosed sub.
300 watts rms @2 ohms to the sub. Monster Cable for all speaker connections.

I believe my listening tastes prefer Polk or Infinity to the others .

Oh and a Pioneer Head unit. Installed at ABC Warehouse for around $1,700. Sounds great. They gave him lots of discounts as he brought in a Best Buy Alpine config. to try to beat. Includes installation.

Nothing wrong with the hybrid 5 ch amps. I sell the memphis and they are great and very durable. Someone mentioned Crutchfield , ok to compare but their pricing is not that good at all.
