Just dropped in a 600hp"need prop"

I have a 288 sunsation and this week I pulled the 496HO and dropped in a custom built 600hp+ 540 motor. I am thinking 28 or 30 4 blade anyone have any other suggestions?

What prop and RPM's were you getting with the old set-up?
It will be easier to figure knowing how your hull performed with the original set-up.

I was running a 4 blade 24 pitch at 5000 with 425hp, 70 mph. I will be running will say 600hp @ 5400-5500

i just rerigged my 24ft baja with a 630hp 509ci,i too have a 24 pt bravo one prop that just spins and blows out if you get on it too much,i am waiting for a labbed 23 pt 3 blade and i am going to try a 29 pt 4 blade.

I would probably start with a 28 Bravo. Because of your new found power, your boat might list to port because of the torque. If that's the case, switch to a LH rotation.

if it lists to port, try putting a torque tab on the skeg....changing to LH may only change the direction of the list.......I would start with a 28p Bravo 1

Congratulations on the new power. Who built your engine? What did you do with the take out? I am thinking of doing something similar with our boat. I am not sure if supercharging our 454MAG or upgrading to a NA 540 is the best route. I am confident 600HP is where our famiy truckster needs to be. A 28 B1 labbed is where I would start to pull 5500RPM in most weather conditions with that power and hull. However my opinion is novice at best.

you need 28 3 blade then check your rpm . 4 blade prop on baja no good lift the back of boat up then you chine walk

28 B1 stock or 30 B1 labbed.

Mine is a 26 outlaw (5200lbs) with 600sci spins a 28 great right out of the box. Stock 30 B1 was a little too much. Labbed the 30 and it's working well.

I have a labbed 28p LH 4b SS Not sure of the manufacture but uses Merc inter. hub. I got it from a friend and used it as a baseline for my boat. Really nice shape no dings but not polished. $75+ shipping you can have it. It was just a little too much prop for my combo. (717)-629-6146 Hope it helps, Ben
