Prop what pitch

I got a 24ft Baja with a 454 mpi with Gil exhaust. It seems to go pretty good now with a Bravo1 24p 4blade and revs 49-5000rpm. It just barely hits about 65mph on the speedo. Is there more mph there with possibly another prop pitch or design.

I DIG IT !! 05-11-2008 12:47 PM

No it sounds like your right there. My buddy has the same boat. thats about as fast as they go stock. I would leave it alone.

Isn't the rev. limiter @ about 5300 on the 454? If it is, you could get your current prop labbed, pick up 200rpms, and top end as well. Carder

Is it a 24 outlaw or a 240???

I would guess a 240 from your numbers. Almost all 24 Outlaws with stock 365-415hp run a 23 Mirage plus for the fastest top end. Plaining time sucks.

A 240 is lighter and has less deadrise, so a 25 Mirage plus would be the prop for the best top speed. Cruise speed and plaining time will suffer though.
