Just make sure it is copper colored!
Thay had a bad batch of cores back in 2002-2004. (and they were black colored) Shouldn't be a problem now. Dave Are all the new ones copper colored? Hate to get a old one thats been sitting around. |
As far as I know, yes. If it's black....send it back!
I was told by the technical department after I installed and ran the “black” camshaft, induction hardened 8150, that this particular camshaft was not as strong as the “copper colored” oil quench 8620 cam for marine application. I was also told that Crane had experienced some failures in the marine environment. Dave |

Crane Cam 168741
I have two slightly used ones. I am moving to a larger cam. These are perfect and run for 2 seasons. Call me if interested.

Trying to find a new one.
I found a 139021 but that is for a Gen 4 and can't use cam retainer and stock cover. Called Crane and they said they don't even have a time frame as when they will have more. I tried Summit(they said end of June thru Crane) and Jegs no luck. Might even consider a used one. Thanks for any help. |
I already have one but you guys might want to put a post up since Crane is down.
