Capping TRS gimble exhaust hole

Im looking for a simple way to block off the gimble exhaust hole to keep water from flowing into the inner transom plate. Anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone make a simple capped rubber boot that would slip on and thighten with a hose clamp?

There are block off plates available. Years ago though, I did the thru hull conversion on my Scarab. I simply went to Home Depot and purchased heavy duty rubber caps as you stated. I installed them with two heavy duty SS hose clamps(each), also available from Home Depot. Only cost a few dollars, and the boat stayed that way for years... until I sold it.

I did what dmoore did; I also added some silicone type sealer around the cast inlets on the inner transom plates(which is what I think you're talking about). good luck - jeff
