blowers
Hey engine guys! I have a pair of 496 dart pro1 alm head 9.5 to1 comp.carb.engines thinking about adding blowers. Would BM174 be big enough? about 5 psi boost . THANKS

No. The 174 is great on small block motors. They are marginal on a 454. And simply too small for a 496. Check the classifieds, there are some 250's for sale. And even better, ther are some 420's, which will produce 5psi with very little heat.

Like was said, 250's would be a much better choice. IMO, your compression ratio is too high as well, but a 4-5lb boost may be ok.
