SBC Distibutor Gear

Just finishing my SBC roller rebuild. Running a comp cams roller. Comp cams says I do not have to run a special gear. Is the stock Mercruiser Thunderbold IV dist. gear the same as a stock GM distibutor gear? Any suggestions on a replacement?

your stock gear will work it is the same as a new gm gear
