Danna Exhaust or Lightning Headers
Need some help, I have read many of the exhaust test versus the header test, but I'm still confused!
Do I want Dana Exhaust OR:cool-smiley-011: Do I want Lightning Headers What would be my best bang for the $$$$ taking all tangibles into account. Send some knowledge this way for me! My setup is: 31 Scarab II Twin 555 N/A 700 HP Each :evilb: TRS's 72C Trans Wet Exhaust Salt Water |
The best bang for the buck in manifolds are Stainless Marine and Eickert. They'll make the best power and they'll last. Tube headers might give you a few more horses but IMO aren't worth the durability downside.

I went thru the same delima, they all seem to be a good product and everyone has it's ups and downs from time to time. I chose Stellings and I'm re-rigging for 700-725 HP N/A engines. I agree with Chris the manifolds will last you longer but if you want every inch headers are the way to go. Plus you have a little bling factor with headers.

Hands down !!!! for the money I don't think you can beat Eickert Thunder and Lightning !!! You have equal length tuned tubes that are also cast Alum. that will far outlast ANY stainless header, And if you get into some overheat trouble the Alum. will FORGIVE somewhat better than S.S. my .02

best for the $$$$ is stainless marine.

I do like the Eickert but aluminum will melt with serious overheat problems.

I bolted a set of KE's on my new engine and couldn't be happier. With a little paint work you can still have some bling bling :drink: .

No fire needed, just run them dry and you will have problems long before you do with ss or even steel. Don't believe me? Ask your engine builder. There are pros and cons to all exhausts and Aluminum doesn't hold up to heat as well as steel.
I am not sure you feel the need to get nasty about this but oh well..... |
