Oil Cooler Fittings

I recently installed new EMI Exhaust Manifolds on my '00 7.4 MPI Bravo I. When I ordered the kit I ordered the optional filter relocation kit. It came with two fittings and a piece of hose to hose to connect to the fittings with hose clamps. I dont trust the hose clamps and want to make a line with SS braided hose and the appropriate fittings. I'm having trouble finding the appropriate fittings from the cooler to the filter. The cooler has an inverted flare fitting on it and the filter housing has a typical flare fitting. The flare fitting is easy to find but I'm having trouble figuring out what size the inverted flare on the cooler is. Anybody know or have any suggestions?

I don't think you will find an inverted flare fitting to go on SS braided hose. I've never seen one. You will probably have to use an adapter fiiitng to go from inverted flare to male jic and then use a standard hose end to hook to that. It will probably take two fittings to adapt it. I don't think you will be able to do it in one. Hope this helps, Eddie.

Yeah I figured I'd have to get a union that goes from inverted flare to standard flare fitting and then an adapter to hose. I just dont know what size to get. Or how to figure out what size. Typically inverted flare is what you see on brake lines but this is much bigger so its a little harder to find.

you will need to get the fittings to AN to use steel braided, i'm in the process of doing mine now as well, but my older merc oil cooler has AN fittings on it now..factory I believe...Rob
