lean at high rpm??
 
hi,
i have a mercruiser 502mpi, with a procharger m1sc.
i upgraded my fuel pump to XS (for 1000hp), and installed a procharger fuel regulator, and am still running lean at high rpm!
i tried to increase fuel pressure up to 5bar, but still ruuning lean at high rpm!!! but at low rpm its rich!
am running 5psi boost!
so can anyone help me plz??

Sounds like you need to have your computer re-programmed to change the fuel map. Upping the pressure can help tweak it, but if the fuel map is incorrect, you can't fix it with pressure only.

The best solution is to put the engine on a dyno and have it tuned so that the A/F ratio is correct and the egt is good as well.

the other alternative to do it right in the boat would be to add an O2 sensor fitting and tune the A/F ratio in the boat. You won't have a HP number then, but you can get the fuel map right.

I'm sure the procharger came with a program, but most times they are not right and need to be tuned on the engine. Sucks to have to do that, but that's the price we really have to pay for going fast!:drink:
