oil setup question
im looking to order some parts and was wondering if anyone could tell me any advantages/dis advantages between these 2 setups, one is going with this a oil cooler and the remote oil filter head with a thermosat in it, the other option im looking at is to get a cooler that has a tstat in it, and a regular filter head and bracket, these are the 2 im looking at, diffrence is about 500 dollars,

We just put 2 of the oil coolers in and the motors made 575 horsepower on the dyno! We cant get the oil temps above 160. It sais the coolers are rated for engines that produce 450 horspower to 700 horsepower. The problem is the oil thermostat does not block the cooler completely,it still lets too much oil through the cooler! We were told to try and put smaller oil lines on the motor or purchase a thermostatic head that closes completely! Seems like they need to redesign them! Of course we are the only ones to ever have this problem! Oh and we boat in phoenix where it is really hot already!
