What should I use to attach my wooden, flat amp rack to the ungelcoated/unpainted fiberglass in my cabin?

The amps are screwed to a 3/4" piece of marine grade plywood that is being painted and dressed up. But how do I mount THAT to the boat? I cant screw it in..

LOTS OF 5200 Let it for 72 hours plus max 1 week for cure time. Sand the fiberglass with 80 grit sand paper. Once it dries, its not goona move. Good Luck..

Will it hold the weight of the 3/4" MDF with 3 amps, 2 distribution blocks and 1/0 wire?

You say let it sit for 72 hours. The amps are already attached to the wood panels, is that going to be an issue?

With the 5200 you can probably hold the boat from the mdf! It is strong stuff. If you do use it, you may want to make sure you don't want to remove the board.

You might make it to where it can be removed just in case. I have done a few amp racks with industrial velcro before the good thing about that is the more vibrations the tighter velcro tightens..

3m 4200 is fast drying and works very good too.

In all seriousness if you have the amp rack (front face) carpeted you may want to consider a thick kneadable epoxy type putty. Glassing it in might be a good option but messy. I have also did some amazing thing with PL brand construction adhesive. Nice thing about the adhesive is that it will not run all over the place and it will fill gaps if the fit is not perfect....just a few options. Of course surface prep is critical for adhesion.

Im considering going the industrial velcro route.. If i can find some in time before next weekend. I think im going to fiberglass in an amp rack and just junk the whole jumperseat idea, no one ever sat in it before anyways.. It depends on how my kickpanels come out. Im a fiberglass newbie and dont want to build something that large that looks like trash.

The Epoxy PL, glue a few strips of wood to the hull, then screw your rack to those strips, that way if ya wanna remove it, all ya gotta do is unscrew the rack, then remove the strips, not the whole piece of ply.

5200 needs a week to properly set and it should work fine.
