Yes, but it requires 91 octane, this is what we offer in our stage 2 program, 5 deg's more spark, more coil power, fuel mapping tweak, etc. Motor does not have adjustable timing, so it has to be done via the PCM. Motor comes stock with 24deg timing @ WOT, peak rpm.

Thanks

Have you dyno'd this set up at all?? Where's the difference in seat of the pants performance? Whats the damage if 91 octane is not available??

Of course we've dyno'd this, it makes 25-30hp more with more spark. If you run lower octane, and don't go WOT, you won't have a problem, go WOT and your relying on the knock system to retard timing and control detonation, which is only good for sometime, sooner or later, it will hurt itself. Knock detection is a reaction from an action that has already occurred, therefore if you don't get control of detonation, it will run out of control and destroy everything in its path.

Thanks,
Dustin

Dustin, sorry for being an idiot..lol ! After my last post I researched your website....I am quite familiar with whipple chargers...I hadn't made the connection, sorry!! A quick question, if I bought/ installed a good set of tube headers and had you reprogram the ECU where would the hp numbers be..any idea?? Any idea how long a 496 could withstand a constant 5400 rpm??? I do like the hammer down!!!
Thanks,
Mike.

Mike,

No worries. You can hold the throttle down as long as oil temp and water temp maintain, and you can get that midflight re-fueling program going :)

There's a lot of numbers some company claim, but with a good set of tublar headers and a good cal, you should pick up another 40-50lbs of torque and 40-45hp.

Thanks
