Procharged 502 EFI plumbing/bypass question

I've got a gen vi procharged 502. Been running a 120 deg tstat with too many holes drilled to bring up to temp. Installed a replacement tstat from AZ Speed with one 3/8 hole for steam.

Now my exhaust is too hot w/out a bypass. Need to install bypass.

Question: It I run a small line from my crossover nipple (currently supplying intercooler) to the tstat housing, will this overwhelm the tstat output? I assume a small enough water supply will still enable water to flow correctly.

Next quesiton: where to re-locate water temp sender for gauge? the t-stat housing will be getting cold water, so won't read correctly. Where to relocate? I'm already using the tap in the front of the intake manifold for the merc system temp sender.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to plumb & locate temp sender much appreciated.

Thanks!

I just changed mine over to what you want to do, I drilled and tapped out manifold for temp sending unit. I will post some pics tomorrow when i get a chance.

that would be great Greg. I am looking at a CP Performance part - a tapped & threaded spacer- that goes below the t-stat housing and is machined to accept the t-stat. That way the sender goes below the t-stat.

Looking forward to your pic

Here's a picture of what i did, I swithed the lacations of the 2 sending units because the motor sending unit was really tight to the intercooler. Hope this helps.

Thanks Greg. Are you running a bypass to the t-stat housing ? If so, how large (I'm at 1/2" and am wondering if I'm overwhelming block water output).

I am running a 1/2" line from my crossover to top of thermostat housing, I also drilled 4 3/16" holes in a 140 thermostat as well. The 1/2 " line will not effect water output from block.
