Perko Wiring for Dual Battery Setup
1 Attachment(s)
Guys,
Here is my propsed wiring for a dual battery setup, do you see anything wrong with this setup. Battery #1 is my starting battery, along with the helm power that supplies the radio and amps relay to fire. Batter #2 is two deep cell batteries that provide the power to the amplifiers. I have the auto amp wire on a toggle switch so when i pull near a dock i can kill the amps and let just the radio's amplifier power 4 small 6.5's two in the cabin and two in the cockpit. The Power to the amplifiers is 4 gauge with a 180 Amp Circuit breaker. Ok thats about it besides the stereo equipment installed. Just wondering if this steup will work. thx in advance:drink: |
I set mine up just like you have it drawn. Works fine for 3 years.

How about a schematic for twin engines, two perko switches and three batterys?

That is what I have. I have Bat 1 on each switch wired to the separate starting/main battery for each engine. Bat 2 from both switches is wired to the 3rd big deep cycle battery that I use for the stereo. Just don't run both switches on Bat 2 at the same time. This will allow any of the 3 batteries to start either engine. |
Hey Griff
Whoever had the boat before may have screwed with the wiring. It came with two massive size batterys with a million ground leads on the port side. There is evidence on the stringers that 3 boxes were once there. Port side perko on #1 will draw from port battery. Starboard side perko on #2 will draw from starbaord battery. If I turn SB side perko to #1 it will draw from port side. |
