Leaking KPM sea strainers ?

my kpm sea strainers are leaking from one of the windows
in the cover . Has this happened to anyone? Can it just be
resealed better with silicone or is their a better fix , or does it need replacing ? purchased them thru trick marine

Thanks Howard

Are they new? Leaked from day 1 ? Or older ? The salt gets into the cracks and crevises the seperates the seals a bit. Mine leaked dont know what brand it was off hand. I took mine out and totaly apart. Cleaned everything. Reasembled with some grease on the rubber O rings and now she no leak. I even put wing nuts on to open if it get filled. They had nuts on the top. So evn hand tight it dont leak. Hope this helps.

Hi, this is not a problem that is common.
What size of strainer do you have? if you send a photo of the offending article I am sure that we can get this sorted out for you.
Re-sealing will not be possible as the lexan is bonded to the aluminium with an epoxy and is devised to work up to 200 psi.

Re Leaking Strainer

Hi Nauti, if you measure the diameter of the strainer itself and email it to me, I will be able to get it sorted.
