I was thinking about buying a boat wrap but not sure about them. I was wondering if anyone has bought one or know's someone with one? Also what do people have to say about hem.

Ultra just did a wrap on their new 34' cat and it came out really nice. Here is a link to the build with the pics of the wrap.

the going rate is about $15-20 a sq ft. installed using good material, design work can add to that...there are limitations on installation with sharp crevesses, compond curves that are real bad. You have to be a little carefull walking on the deck in the hot sun, no shoes is my recomendation there, and if you allow to rub on the sides will damage it there as well, but the cost vs paint is a lot less and the ability to change is a big plus, as there are a lot of dated graphics/colors out there now with owners hoping that they will come back in !!!!! if anybody is interested in wraps/graphics feel free to give me a call and will be glad to discuss with you, thanks, Rob 540-786-8111

Jst saw photos of a wrap on a different site and this guy has a Baja. His opinion was its very good but would suggest doing from the rub rail to the water line due to durability etcc on the top. The looks are awesome.

I love my wrap. It was about $ 3,800.00 and looks great on a 28 boat. I do have some dock rash that they are going to touch up with some patches.
Cheaper than and as good looking as paint. |
This is a great thread.... I am going to look into this over the winter. And as someone pointed out, I think doing from the rubrail down as a great idea.

we just had our box truck wrapped and the quality of the film and detail is amazing.Very easy to take care of.we already had to patch it from some one hitting a large low tree branch and can't tell were the patch is. www.houstonwraps.com
I'll see if I can get a pic posted |
I also agree that they work better from the rubrail down, I always try to advise that...the problem I'm running into is almost all the ones I get asked about are older out dated boats(graphic wise) and the deck has been a issue...a lot of the new builders are just doing the boat in white and wrap from there which helps a bunch ! I looked into doing a wrap for my 25, way less expensive than paint and when you get sick of it just put another one on.
Instead of a full wrap I went with custom vinyl stripes. Got great deal at a place called Raceline Digital. Very happy with them, even customized the design and sent numerous "mock ups" with the new graphics and different colors overlayed on a digital picture of my boat. |
I see there is a few people interested in this subject. So what would it roughly cost to do a 25 outlaw rub rail down.

I'd say your looking at $3000 to $4000 maybe less if you find the right person but make sure they're using good film.
