Boat setup question

Hi guys. I have a question about setup on my boat. The boat really likes a ton of trim. In calm water I can bury the mechanical indicator (spring loaded style). How can I set this thing up so that I don't have to trim so high to get speed out of it? Here's the boat info. 94 33 Powerplay 600ish HP Bravo's, X is 6" below the bottom of boat, Bravo 30" stock props spining 5600rpm

An I not getting enough bow lift out of the props? Do I need shorties? 3 blades maybe?

Thanks,
Frank

Your drives are pretty deep. I would think your boat is a great candidate for -2" lowers. Today, I also expect you would get some more top end with Mirage props.

a lot of it is probably due to the hull itself along with the balance as well, more hook in the hull means needing more trim to get the bow to lift and free the boat, same as the different speeds between hulls with same power..Rob

Raise the X and problem solved.

Shortys is what you need 2" i think is the max but i would go higher if posible.

That also gives you Bowlift , so i think props be fine.

Anyone know if these hulls like ext. boxes?

You can get an Imco with a 3" if you buy the whole drive and not just a lower.

Some of what I have been reading lately suggests you might get more speed with less prop and 1.36 gears. Getting the prop speed up or more blade area is key in the upper ranges of speed, so they say. Just a thought.

Thats what i had on my 33 PP , year 1990.
Stelling boxes as high as can be and imco with 2" lowers,1:36 gear with 28 Bravo 1's ,twin 650 HP and ran 108 MPH on GPS.
Motors turned about 63-6400 .

Cool handling and everything.

Mine is a completely different boat but before I put the -2" shorty I could trim it to the moon to free up the boat and now with the -2" shorty all that's needed is 1/2 as much trim and she is more stable @ WFO as well. My X was deep to start with to.
