Merc 6.2 Fuel Consumption Rates
 

Anyone know fuel consumption rates for a 6.2 Merc? Working on a project to present to the wife about how putting Whipples on will pay for itself over time because of the fuel saved at cruise (where we spend the majority of time). Need fuel consumption rates at 4,000 rpm and 3,200 rpm (approx 70 mph and airpacking in my boat).

Save your self the trouble of doing that & just tell her after you have installed the whipples you only thought it was going to cost a little bit & that you are sorry. Remember, it's easier to get forgiveness then permission. If that fails tell her you think the kitchen needs to be remodeled. If you try to cost out $ saved on gas ver cost of whipples you might break even in about 50 years. That is if you keep you hand out of throttles. (yea, right)

I like the part about having to go fast to pack air. I am going to try that one out on wife when she B*** about why I am going so fast
