crane 168731 hydraulic roller springs

Hello All,

I have a crane 731 cam and hydraulic lifters , crane recommends their 99896 springs which have installed heights of 150 lbs at 1.900 and 454 lbs at 1.310. What make and part number are some of you guy running for springs for this cam . I want to make sure that they are not to much open pressure and won't float the valves. Thanks Alec

I ran the crane springs when I did my 731 upgrade in my 525sc. Never had any problems. Spun it to about 5300rpms.

Griff,

what was the part number of the crane springs you ran

I don't remember the part number. I just used what Crane showed on their website to go with the cam. I think its the same # you posted, but don't have the invoice any more to check. I figured if I ran all Crane stuff and something failed, they couldn't try to blame it on somebody else's parts. I never had to cross that bridge and put about 150hrs on them before I sold the boat.
