i have some 502 mpi's with MEFI 1 computers. what is the largest camshaft i can put in these things without having to remap the ecu's. i believe the stock cams are .510/.510 part#431-9830. thanks

I would say its probably not worth putting a bigger cam in if you dont remap.

You can't make any substantial engine mods without a reprogram of the ECM.

If you want any gains, the ECM has to reprogrammed.

I know some guys running the 731 crane with headers and no remap. seems to work for them.

Is the 731 cam suitable with the MPI, or was it only used withe the carbed HP500's?
