Hydraulic Steering Question???

I have installed a Full Hydraulic steering (Single Ram) on my Stinger 222. everything is on and connected but I now have problem I should have seen coming;
The IMCO ram mount for my drive has 5 bolt holes. I only have 3 in the drive. Do I have to drill and tap the outside 2? Is this safe? How far in should I / can I drill?

Any pics of anyone elses set-up would be great too! every pic I've seen has all 5 bolts in, so I just need to confirm if it's okay to drill.

Here's the mount. How do I get it to show up in the post?

Thanks again! :drink:

Imco makes a stepped bit for drilling those two holes, it centers the bit and drills the correct depth. I'll measure the dimensions of it for you tomorrow unless someone posts it first. Or you can just call IMCO, I'm sure they'd be happy to help. Good luck. :ernaehrung004:

Thanks mate! Figured I'd have to drill it, I just thought I'd check how first.

Cheers.

Thanks!
I've found the part in their catalog. Anyone have a pic of one though? I don't want to have to wait for postage!

Excellent thanks!
I'll see what my machine shop can knock up this afternoon.

Wish me luck!

the large end is just a guide to keep the drill at the right angle .. The imco instructions ....

Bolt on the end cap without the O-ring and drill a hole
1" deep remove the cap and tap the hole with a 3/8"-16 bottom tap ...Torque the bolts to 35lbs ...Bolts are 2" .....m
