Fuel Problem
 

I have a 589 with 1050's on 10-71 bds. Fuel pump is A1000 with all 1/2 line. My problem is when i hit a wave or wake the fuel pressuere jumps around and the motor is starved for fuel so i lose power it pops and once i get the fuel pressure back runs great again. Im totally lost as what to do here or where to start or where to go know anyway. The system is reg'd at the back side of the rail after the carbs.

when you said you loose pressure when you hit a wave, i would think this is a fuel pick -up tube problem sucking air.

But wouldnt it take a few seconds to reach the fuel rail as to have drained the carbs? the pick up is all 1/2 pipe with 1/2 lines.

Have you checked the float in the carb? Sounds like it is shutting off fuel to soon. Not enough fuel in the bowl

You may need slosh tubes in the float bowls. I'm thinking that it may not be leaning out like you think. It may be fuel is jumping out the vent tubes temporarily flooding the motor. All you have to do, is run rubber gas line between the vents and cut a small hole in the top of the loop. I'm assumeing you have non marine carbs. Brian
