My prop c/l is 7 1/2 on my boat and so far I gained ZERO with a 2" shortie plus boat no longer carries the bow well. Just tried a 1" spacer, carried bow better but still not real good, zero speed increase,Smitty

Hate to spend the money and gains. I'll try one in spring before spending the money.

Just buy it! If it doesn't work I'll take it off your hands for you:drink:

What's the scoop John, we all want to know!

Wild Card 09 10-19-2008 07:12 AM

First of all, what power/speed are you running?

A noseconed shorty (like the Imco, Sportmaster) will slow a (400hp) 65 mph boat down, but could(!) make (800 hp) 90 mph boat gain 4 mph.
If the current prop to hull dimension is 6", and you go up to 4", without a notch (donīt know if a S26 has one) you may well be already too high for a mild powered boat.

Power, current speed and x dimension?

Let's just say I will hopefully be placing some orders with you soon! What's up with KW..did you find a place to crash? Hope to see you there:ernaehrung004:

Noise...for the record I have no experience with a 2" shorty on a 26. Sorry for the hijack. Keeps the thread at the top though:drink:

NO Prob. Jdub
Motor is aound 580 - 590 HP at the prop. Top speed 71.6 at 4950 rpm. Motor peaked at 5300. So I have some more room to play with. The boat does has a notch.

DareDevil 10-19-2008 09:04 AM

By the look on that pic ,you could go higher with it?!

I dont have any idea on a sonic but i think it should work, to give you a little more free up at the prop.
Specialy with the notch ,even though its a short one.

May lose a little handling though, since the sonic has a round shaped V.

Wild Card 09 10-20-2008 11:18 AM

580 hp, 71 mph and you are still 400rpm below the peak power.
What prop are you running. Iīd expect it to be a 26" (on a 1.5 drive) with those figures. Labbed?
Yes, Iīd say you are ploughing deep with your current settup. The picture confirms that, too. The notch will effectively mean that the drive can be a tad higher than a similar hull without a notch, anyway.
