Distributor for Dart Tunnel Ram

Anyone have any experience with the Dart tunnel ram intake on a tall deck? I have been running the slip collar pro billet msd with blowers and life was good. However, looking to switch to the Dart intake for a change and run into the distributor clearance issue. So far, all I see as being a viable alternative to the pro billet is the short deal with the crab cap? Anyway to use the existing MSD, which is #85561?

Call Bill at Ateco (847)623-2737

He's a Dart distributor with alot of experience.

More boaters should look at running the Profiler intakes, they are really much better than the others in the market.

Best regards,

Ray, Profiler does have a very nice looking intake. I had these port matched a couple years ago so, tried one on the dyno, did fairly decent so I am going to give them a try for a few months while I get the blowers gone through. Who knows, maybe I should keep the tunnel ram intake and just mount the blower on top. I hear they do very well in that set up:eek:

Thanks Elite for the contact at Ateco as well!

The MSD 85561 can be done with the Dart Tunnel ram it takes some grinding and is still a tight fit...grind the outside of the intake for a little extra clearance where its obviously needed...be careful not to take too much material though...we used an insturment (can't remember what it was called) that reads how much thickness is left. The crab style would be your best bet...at the time I did mine, the only "crab" that was available was for a crank trigger.

jdnca1, thanks for the info. I was looking at the one intake I have that hasn't been painted and you can see where Dart tried to gring down some of the material there already but it still looks a little heavy there. I need to get ahold of one of the instruments ptobably just to be safe. Thanks.

The insturment had 2 pieces that looked like ipod earphones that you put on the inside and outside and it read the thickness remaining digitally. I guess it could be done "lower tech" as well...
