Hi, I always follow this procedure when winterizing my PWC.
Always refer to the shop manual for the PWC you have, the procedure under is only a guide line. You can download the correct manual from http://seadoomanuals.net/ for FREE! Hope this help and good luck! WINTERIZING 2-stork PWC SEADOO *clean engine compartment and engine *lube all cables and cable attachments (CRC 6-56) *fill fuel tank and oil tank to the top. Add fuel stabilizer as recommended for the amount of fuel you got in the tank *Remove air "filter" box, attach fresh water flushing kit -start engine -turn water on -rev to 1/2 throttle (approx. 3000rpm) -spray fogging lube or a mix of fuel stabilizer, gas, and 2-stork oil into the carbs for 1/2 a minute -Shut of fuel valve while continuing spraying the carbs for another 20-30 sec. or until engine begins to "die" -shut off water and engine IMPORTANT! Never run the engine for more than 5 min. or the pump bearing will get damaged. Adding antifreeze: (always refer to the shop manual for the specific PWC) Locate the main water lines where they attach to the jet pump and exhaust fitting. The inlet hose runs from the pump and splits into two hoses and connects to the pipe on most models. The outlet hose typically runs from the head to the exhaust fitting. The third hose is a drain hose (clear, usually) that runs from under the exhaust manifold to the exhaust fitting on most models. Remove these hoses where they connect to the pump and the exhaust outlet at the rear of the engine compartment. Tie these hoses so that the ends are above the top of the engine. On the water inlet hose, follow it to the pipe and note where it splits and connects in two places. Install a hose pincher on the smaller hose that connects under the pipe (closest hose to engine). This keeps antifreeze from entering the cylinders! Locate the water inlet hose (the one that was connected to pump), and insert the funnel into the end of it. Pour antifreeze mix into the funnel slowly until you can see antifreeze mix rise above the top of the engine in clear hose. Leave these lines tied for the winter (if they are reattached, the mix will drain out). Drain the muffler (located behind the pipe). this involves removing the inlet and outlet exhaust hoses. Next, you need to remove the tie-down strap. Remove the muffler, and pour out any water. Reinstall the muffler in the reverse order. *Remove sparkplug wires and place them on the grounding terminals then remove the sparkplugs. *spray fogging oil into the cylinders or 2-stork oil and turn the engine over a few times. *install new sparkplugs and sparkplug wires *grease all fittings and seals (se manual) *change jet pump oil (se manual) *wipe off engine compartment *spray all electrical connections *spray engine and all metal with CRC 6-56 *drain out all water and leave all drain plugs out *put some steel wool (sprayed with CRC 6-56) inside the drainhole to keep out rodents *remove battery and charge *clean and polish the outside off the PWC |
