With your exhaust, I would use the 525 efi cam on the 114. It will have a smoother idle and less chance of reversion.

So is the part number the 741 with 114 lobe sep? Thanks griff i just found one of your post that said the 525 cam is the 741 with 114 lobe sep. So what lifters should i use and should i get a cam button? Also recommendations on a timing chain? Griff i do appreciate your help thanks bud!

I think you will have to order the 741 on a 114 as a "custom grind" although Crane should have it readily available. There is no publicly available part/grind number that I'm aware of. You need to use a cam button unless you have a Gen VI engine. I'm assuming yours is Gen V with a stamped steel timing cover. When I upgraded my 525SC with a retrofit roller cam, I used all the crane parts that Crane had listed as compatible for the application, including the valve springs, lifters, and timing chain.

If I was going to order anything besides an off the shelf cam, I would probably just contact rmbuilder/Bob. He has some stuff that is definately better than Crane's. The Morel lifters are supposed to be much better than Crane's. He should be able to put together a complete package for you.

I went with the 741 on the 112. Would i benefit from changing the pistons? If so what piston would work best for me?

If you are interested, I have a pair ( for two engines) of 525EFI's cams, lifters, sprockets w/chains that have 70 hours on them.
