500EFI owners..check it out!

New for the Mercury 500HP engine, AS&M has developed the “Monoblade” throttle valve that flows 1,300 CFM to match Mercury’s new 525HP engine. The “Monoblade” has bronze bushing for the shaft to rotate on, stainless steel blade, installed in a billet CNC housing. It is corrosion protected and painted to match the factory blue paint. Stock OEM sensors and throttle cable mounts in the original location. Port matching to the plenum chamber is required.

See link below for pictures and complete description.

25HP gain is available with AS&M’s re-calibration of the ECU and the throttle valve.

sounds like you need to get the die grinder out, eh? I am already in the process of getting the ECU's reprogrammed, hopefully have'em next week, I want to go boating in two or three weeks.

Troutly, I guess you could do it yourself, just need to be real careful. Otherwise a good head porting shop can do it for you. The new throttle body is larger so the hole in the upper plenum where the throttle body mounts needs to be enlarged(matched).

??? Forgive my lack of knowledge here, but would you need to pull the motor out to change the throttle body and make it match?? I am very interested in doing this modification. Also how difficult would it be to undo? Or is that not possible.

Thanks

Will, it should be an easy change over. You don't have to remove the motor. Just the throttle body(where your K&N is attatched) and the upper half of the intake to get it port matched to the new throttle body.

Undo should be no big deal if you keep the original throttle body. The enlarged port will also work fine with the stock throttle body. Only thing is the computer. Once reprogrammed I doubt you can go back.

hope this helps! Eric
