350or400motors for novaspyder
 

hi my dad and i own a 27 1987 novaspyder love the boat and want to make it a little faster.we like to either go with 350's that are in there know or i have two 400 chevy motors. i like to go with the 400 motors. so i was wondering if anyone can help me on what flywheels i need to use with the 400 motors. we would like to make about 450 hp.and any idea on cams we like to use a roller cam.thanks tommy

I would build 383 strokers out of 350's, can get a reliable 400-425hp easily .

the 400's work fine, .030 over 406, good torque, just make sure you talk to a com co. and let them help you get the right cam for that cu in. decent heads will be needed....vortecs not a bad way to go at all....assuming you still have alpha drives try setting the power to come in all by 4800-5000, and be easy on putting on plane....and you will just need the ext balanced std trans flywheel like a 454, Rob

thanks for the info we are going to go with 400 i have .030 over we would like to try to get around 500hp out of them each.i was just wondering if any one knows of anybody with a set of aluminum finned oil pans with the windage trys and bolts.and dipstick tube.and if anybody has idea of a nice roller cam let me know.thanks tommy
