with the air gap intake and what you are talking I would run a holley 750 DP and yes I have heard issues with some new carbs..all of them including demon, holley and edelbrock, so, sometime a custom one saves some tuning time....

We used a Edelbrock 750 on our 383's and made 425hp. :drink:
