Does Anyone Build The 455 Olds Marine Engines , I Am Considering One For Power Maybe Have The Motor Built.

they were used a lot in jet set ups, but have oiling issues and the bottom end does not hold up well at all without major changes, there are lots of marine parts still around for them because of the jets...Rob

We build several jet boat engines from Florida to California and it's a fairly reliable engine it does take certain oiling system mods but nothing realy too crazy they make very good torque and there are many good parts to build hp the valvetrain is a more important issue for reliablity if you ask me . Also there are many marine exhaust system now days that make them nice to use. Good luck Laz Mesa

Mondello had a kit that included oil restictors to the cam bearings etc. That was years ago.

Nothing wrong with Old's engines but will big bucks to rig -vs- a big block chevy.
I have a '65 442 since I was a kid in school and kept blowing out bottom ends like crazy. I have had great success with Mondello products.
