stern jack with bravo3
Hi, Has anybody ever tried a Land@Sea stern jack on a bravo3 ?, Its a 1998 22ft boat. 454 mag,procharger,and will one off of a bravo 1 work,Thanks for any help.
|
not sure if it would work or not but they are no longer made either..

Why do you have a B3 on a 22' boat??. If you have one use it and put a B1 lower on it. You should pick up 5-6 mph and a little handling.
|
Agree. Go with a Bravo I and depending on your current X dimension, a shorty lower.

bravo3 was on boat when I bought it. Procharger and custom cam,etc going on this winter.Already have 28 and 30 pitch props(1.81).,so I figured i'd try it. Have heard of several people running 3's with big horse power, 540's etc and they claim you only lose 2 to 3 mph on top and bottom and mid is better?
|
Yeah, you might need two props to keep yo ass in the water with that power in a 22'!

I had a Stern Jack (Bravo 1) on a 22.5 ft open bow Crownline with a 600 hp Procharged 383. It ran a tad over 75. I knew a guy with the same hull with a Wippled 502 and a bravo 3 that ran a little over 70. I definitely think the bravo 3 will cost you speed when you get over 65 ish.

sounds like a bravo1 lower might be the way to go or -2 shorty? My prop centerline is 8 inches below bottom of boat. Is this pretty deep? I have 1.81 gear ratio in the 3 ,upper gears are 29/27 lower are 16/27.what ratio lower do I need ?
|
Unfortunately with that gear set you can only make a 1.36 ratio, and you're probably not going to have enough horsepower to make that work. Best off selling you three drive and buying a used or take off XR..
